Erin Conroy was born in Seattle and raised on Fidalgo Island. She earned her B.A. in History at Reed College, her M.A. in history at Duke University, and left the Ph.D. program there to earn her law degree at The Yale Law School. Her work as a historian focused on the rise of fascism as a political movement in interwar Germany and France. As an litigator at Bingham McCutchen LLP (now Morgan Lewis Bockius LLP), she specialized in appellate law, complex contract disputes, and civil rights cases. Recently, she co-organized Portland's 5000-person Families Belong Together Rally on June 30, 2018. Current interests are halting American fascism in its tracks and battling climate change, so that her child will inherit a livable planet. Current projects include working for the reunification of immigrant children kidnapped from their families, holding Portland elected leaders accountable for local police reform, and proposing a model for constitutional resolution of our present political crisis. You can find her tweeting and retweeting copiously at @chargrille.
